Video Recording Church Service 101. So you are sitting in church thinking, man I would love it if my friend could hear this message, or see this baptism, or wedding, or funeral etc. If you're my wife you are thinking oh boy here he goes again. The question is how would you produce a video from a church service. Share Your Thoughts: How Church May Change After The Coronavirus Houses of worship in America have now been closed for about two months. We are wondering how worship habits will be changed long. Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the change in time last year we will again have an earlier start to our Sunday morning service over June, July and August. Start will be 10:30 am. We hope this will encourage more families to attend Church in the Summer months when there is. In addition, through various Men's Ministry, Women's Association, youth, and all-church service projects, GCC members donated 1385 hours of community service in 2018. In addition to mission money raised through pledges to the church, a big contributor to our church's ability to help others is the New to You resale shop, which has been a.

3 Instant Takeaways

  1. The cost is often prohibitive. It's a lot cheaper now to produce good video than ever before. But you still need a minimum of two (and better to have three, four or five) cameras, software, a switcher for multiple angles, and people to man the cameras. The average-sized church would be stretching itself and the return on investment is usually minimal: only a handful of viewers watch the services.
  2. Let's be honest: sometimes the motive is simply ego. Pastors are often driven, results-oriented leaders — which is a good thing. But sometimes these personalities feel like they need to keep up with the bigger churches and do what they see in the media when, in fact, it's just not practical at every level.
  3. Your services are too long. If you have met all the other criteria (and listen to the podcast for all 8 reasons) you don't want to upload a 75-minute service, or even a 40-minute sermon. Most popular Youtube videos are about 2 minutes long. People are not likely to sit in front of a screen to watch your entire service. A better option is to upload audio of your messages that people can listen to on the go.

Hennepin's Phased Reopening Plans

We're Dialing Back to the 'Red Phase'

Hennepin Avenue UMC's leadership continues to closely monitor recommendations regarding the prevention of COVID-19 transmission from the Minnesota Department of Health, and to use the Minnesota Conference's Phased Re-Gathering Plan for Churches to guide our policies and procedures for operations within the church building. (You can find this plan at www.minnesotaumc.org/regatheringplan)
On November 19, the MN Conference of the UMC moved from the 'orange phase' to the 'red phase' of the Phased Re-Gathering Plan for Churches. Hennepin will also shift back to our version of the Red Phase, effective Monday, November 30, 2020.

Here is what to expect during the Red Phase (think 'virtual'):

    1. No meetings or gatherings will be scheduled at the church building except as required for the creation of our virtual worship services.
    2. We will continue to gather virtually to celebrate worship together online each Sunday.
    3. All of our online offerings will continue. Groups and committees continue to meet virtually.
    4. Pastoral care will continue to be provided by phone or online using Zoom video conferencing.
    5. Off-site wedding, baptism, and funeral services can be conducted, though encouraged to be postponed. Weddings, baptisms, and funerals will not be held in the church building.
    6. Minimal staff will work on-site in order to maintain the building and continue basic operations such as receiving deliveries (8am–4pm weekdays). The majority of staff will work remotely.
Thank you for your prayers and patience as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have any questions regarding Hennepin's reopening plan, please contact Joe Polach, Director of Facilities, by phone at 612.435.1335 or by email: joep@haumc.org
